WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State went ice cold in a 54-48 loss to Angelo State Saturday afternoon at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.
The loss was the second straight for the Mustangs, who fell to 18-5 on the season and to 13-4 in Lone Star Conference play.
MSU, which slipped a game behind Abilene Christian and Tarleton State in the loss column, shot 25 percent from the field while managing a season-low 17 points in the opening half.
Led by Haylee Oliver (15 points, 9 rebounds) and Lauren Holt (16 points, 10 rebounds), the Rambelles led by as many as 12 points at 26-14 with 42 seconds remaining in the opening half.
But

That's as close as the Mustangs would get as the Belles answered with an extended 15-5 run to push the lead back to 11 at 50-49 on two Morgan Youngblood free throws with 4:28 to go.
MSU made its final run in the closing minutes working to within 51-48 on a
