Injuries sapped the sophomore forward throughout much of the first half the season as Sutherland had just one goal through is first eight games of 2009.

"I'm feeling back to 100 percent," Sutherland said of his high ankle sprain. "I'm not having to wear a brace and going without tape on my ankles, so I feel I really can move now."
He has now accumulated points in six-straight matches which includes three tallies in his last two matches after dishing assists in four-straight games. Sutherland now has four goals and four assists this season after leading the South Central Region with 17 goals and five assists as a redshirt freshman in 2008.
"If Craig gets focused and blocks out officiating calls and bad passes and is a team player, he can be special," MSU coach
Doug Elder said. "When's he's about to get his head straight and coming out concentrating on what he needs to do for us to win, he's awesome. He's definitely done that the last two games."
Sutherland scored on a through ball from
Kyle Hyden in 8th minute, then converted a direct kick at the top of the 18-yard box in the 76th minute as he accounted for all of the Mustangs scoring against the Celts.
