NORMAN, Okla. -- Junior
Ashley Flores and sophomore
Michelle Krezonoski led a strong Midwestern State distance effort here Saturday afternoon at the 2013 UCO Indoor Invitational.
Flores took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.27 finishing a little over a second behind Southwestern University's Cassie Hollenbeck (2:22.03). Sophomore
Cara Mack placed third in the event with a time of 2:29.77.
Krezonoski also finished as runner-up in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:48.63 finishing behind her coach --
Brissia Montalvo, who clocked a 10:28.49 while running unattached. Freshman
Tylo Farrar (11:02.81) finished fifth while teammates
Melody Caldwell (11:28.12) and freshman Mackensey Flores (12:28.08) finished sixth and 11th, respectively.
Junior
Janel Campbell claimed a third-place showing in the 1-mile run with a time of 5:21.81 ahead of teammates Alex Kohrs (5:41.79) and
Katy Kipp (6:06.55) who finished seventh and 15th, respectively.
MSU's
Brittany Adams (19:16.1) and
Abigail Gonzalez (19:16.6) placed fourth and fifth in the 5,000-meter Run while
Heather Owens and
Carrie Finson posted times of 20:42.7 and 21:00.7.
Freshmen
Ana Lopez (3:12.06) and
Danielle Androes (3:21.95) placed sixth and seventh respective in the 1,000-meter run.
Lopez, Kohrs, Mack and
Ashley Flores combined for a time of 9:55.08 to claim third in the 4x880-meter relay.
Midwestern State competes in its first Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Feb. 23 and 24 in Lubbock.
