AUSTIN, Texas – The Midwestern State Mustangs struggled through once again as they finished 14th at the St. Edward's Invitational that ended Tuesday at the Grey Rock Golf Club.
 
The Mustangs tallied a 322 in the final round to post a three-round total of 945 to tie with Cameron.
 
Nova Southeastern (Fla.) won the event with a 883, with Barry (Fla.) five strokes back at 888, with host St. Edward's third at 900.  Abilene Christian was fourth at 902.
 
Jeremy LeGuen turned his game around on Tuesday, leading the team with a four-over 76, while freshman Derek Oland shot a seven-over 79 in the round.  Unfortunately for MSU, those were the only sub 80 scores.
 
Antonio Herran added an 80 for the Mustangs in the final round, while Sam Smith put up an 81 and Raine Copeland an 82.
 
For the tournament, Oland was the leader at 233, a stroke ahead of Smith's 234.  LeGuen and Herran each shot 242, with Copeland at 243.
 
The MSU men are off until March 19-20 when they host the MSU Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
