WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State remained at No. 3 in the latest South Central Region Rankings as released Tuesday morning by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association.
The Mustangs did not compete last weekend as they prepare for a run at their fifth consecutive Lone Star Conference Championship Saturday in Lawton (Okla.) Soccer Club Complex hosted by Cameron University.
There were no changes in the poll as No. 1 Adams State (Colo.) and No. 2 Western State (Colo.) maintained the top two spots followed by MSU, Colorado Mines, Colorado-Colorado Springs, West Texas A&M, Incarnate Word, Eastern New Mexico, Dallas Baptist (Texas) and Regis (Colo.).
Dallas Baptist was the lone squad to compete in a team meet as the Patriots placed 22nd at the 5K race of the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival Saturday in Fayetteville.
All teams will compete in conference championship meets this weekend with the RMAC Championship taking place in Colorado Springs, Colo. and the Heartland Championships will run in Wichita, Kan.
The South Central Region Championships are set for Nov. 3 at the Willis Case Golf Course in Denver, Colo.
The NCAA II Championships follow two weeks later on Nov. 17 in Joplin, Mo.
