WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Midwestern State bumped ahead two places to No. 21 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Poll released Tuesday afternoon.
The Mustangs extended their most recent unbeaten streak to six matches taking results over Houston-Victoria (4-1) and Ouachita Baptist (3-1) over the weekend to improve to 8-1-3 on the season.
MSU continues a crucial four-game road swing with conference matches at Eastern New Mexico on Friday and West Texas A&M on Sunday.
The Mustangs are one of four teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in the poll joining No. 1 Regis (Colo.), No. 10 Incarnate Word (Texas) and No. 17 West Texas A&M.
Those four teams also top the NSCAA South Central Region Rankings with Colorado Mines, Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis (Colo.), Eastern New Mexico, St. Edward's and Metro State filling out the Nos. 5-10 positions.
The Mustangs have appeared in 73 of the last 74 NSCAA national polls in which they were eligible dating back to the 2006 season.
