WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State remained at No. 3 in the latest National Fast-pitch Coaches' Association Division II Top 25 poll released Wednesday morning.

The Mustangs are off to the best start in school history at 30-3 and have won eight of their last nine games heading into the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament this weekend at Texas Bank Sports Complex in San Angelo.

MSU begins the tournament Friday against No. 2 Angelo State at 12:30 p.m. before taking on Abilene Christian at 4:30 p.m.

The Mustangs played Texas A&M-Kingsville and No. 15 West Texas A&M on Saturday before closing the round-robin with Texas Woman's and Tarleton State on Saturday.

Midwestern is one of seven teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in the poll joining No. 2 Angelo State, No. 15 West Texas A&M, No. 16 Emporia State (Kan.) and No. 21 Nebraska-Omaha while St. Mary's (Texas) and Missouri Western are receiving votes.

The No. 3 ranking matches the highest in program history.
