Mustangs move up to No. 3 in NFCA D2 Top 25

WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Midwestern State moved ahead two spots to No. 3 in the latest National Fast-pitch Coaches' Association Division II Top 25 poll released Wednesday morning.

The Mustangs are one of six teams from the South Central Region to receive mention in the rankings joining No. 1 Angelo State (25-2), No. 11 West Texas A&M (22-6), No. 24 Nebraska-Omaha (19-5), No. 25 Emporia State (18-5) and Missouri Western (20-5).

MSU has won 18 of its last 19 games and is off to its best start in school history at 27-2.

The Mustangs open the MSU Invitational II Friday afternoon with games against Central Missouri and St. Mary's (Texas) and noon and 4 p.m., respectively.

Midwestern closes the tournament with games against Delta State and St. Edward's (Texas) at noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

All games of the classic take place at Mustangs Park.
