SAN ANTONIO - Midwestern State carded the same team total of 330 in the final round of the Lady Rattler Roundup Tuesday afternoon at the Par-72, 5,933-yard Pecan Valley Golf Course.

But the same score under difference circumstances paid dividends for the Mustangs who improved four places to finish sixth at the 36-hold, two-day event.

"We shot the same score, but I felt we played together," MSU coach Jeff Ray said. "The course played tougher under the circumstances. I felt like we knocked the rust off a bit, so we can have a great tournament next time."

MSU competes in the Oak Hills Invitational hosted by East Central University on March 7-8 in Ada, Okla.

Sophomore Taylor Klutts fired an 8-over 80 to lead the Mustangs and finished with a two-round total of 162 (+12) to finish 20th overall while Kendra Whittley finished with a two-round total of 163 with rounds of 78 and 85 to close tied for 21st.

Lauren Romines tied for 26th with rounds of 83 and 82 for a total of 165 followed by Lindsay Burkhart (87-83 170/42nd) and Kyla Whittley (87-89 176/48th).

Sophomore Megan Richardson fired rounds of 76 and 87 to tie for 21st with a total of 163 while competing as an individual medalist.

St. Edward's Wallis Spears claimed top individual honors firing rounds of 71 and 78 to finish a total of 149 while leading the Hilltoppers to the team title with a total of 608 which was 14 strokes better than runner-up Tarleton State.
