WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Super Region 4 champion Midwestern State placed three players on the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America/Performance Subaru All-South Central Region team as released Wednesday morning.
Senior goalkeeper
Raul Herrera repeated the honor and was joined by senior midfielder
Paulo Teixeira and junior center back
Ryan Spence.
Herrera, a two-time Daktronics first-team All American, ranked second in NCAA Division II this season with a 0.552 goals against average while helping the Mustangs to their second Final Four appearance in program history.
The Dallas native closed his career with a school record 21 shutouts while notching a 31-4-7 record between the posts.
Teixeira, a two-time All-Lone Star Conference first-team performer, led the nation's No. 2 attack from the central midfield where he notched five goals and four assists.
Spence, a two-time Daktronics All American, led back line efforts while helping the Mustangs post 12 shutouts. He scored two goals and added two assists.
Midwestern State posted its second unbeaten regular season, claimed its sixth straight conference title and advanced to the NCAA II postseason for the seventh time in the last nine seasons.
