SAN ANTONIO – Senior Travis Klutts fired a two-under-par 70 in the final round of the Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational to lead the Midwestern State Mustangs to a sixth place team finish Tuesday.
 
The Mustangs posted a team score of 305 in the third round, holding sixth at 911. Central Oklahoma won the event with an 865, with Abilene Christian second at 870 and St. Mary's third with an 878. St. Edward's was fourth at 901, with Dallas Baptist fifth at 906, followed by MSU.
 
Klutts, who entered the final round tied for sixth, improved two spots to place fourth individually after firing the fourth-best score in the final round.
 
MSU's Raine Copeland struggled on the day. Copeland was tied with Klutts in sixth after the first two rounds, but tallied an eight-over 80 to finish 20th with a nine-over 225.
 
Freshman Jeremy LeGuen posted a 231 following his final round 75, while senior A.J. Pursley posted a 241 and sophomore Sam Smith added a 250.
 
Playing as an individual, sophomore Antonio Herran turned in a 79 for a 229 for the tournament to place 31st.
 
ACU's Alex Carpenter carded a two-under 70 in the final round to match UCO's Colby Shrum at 212 after 54-holes. ACU's Cyril Bouniol blistered the course with a five-under 67 to place third at three-under 213.
 
The Mustangs closed out their fall schedule with the tournament.
