Rudy Rendall was an offensive guard for his first three seasons as an Indian team member. In his senior year, he also became a linebacker and played both ways.

He was a three-year letterman and was selected to the 1950 All-Gulf Coast Conference team at the guard position.

After the 1950 season, Rendall was awarded the Harold Story Trophy, which was presented to the best and most inspirational player. The trophy was named after MSU’s most prolific booster of that era.
