Juan Velez (1984-86) proved to be one of the best distributors in Midwestern State soccer history after transferring from Hesston College.

The native of Columbia tallied 18 goals and 32 assists during his three-year tenure with the Indians as he helped the team to three-straight NAIA National Tournament appearances.

Velez garnered NAIA second-team All-America honors after logging six goals and 12 assists as a senior in 1986.
