Jackie Weldon earned Associated Little All America honorable mention as a quarterback for Midwestern University in 1956 – the final year the school fielded a football team before the program was resurrected in 1988.

Weldon also earned first-team All-Gulf Coast Conference honors while leading the Indians to 2-8 and 3-7 seasons in 1955 and 1956, respectively.
