Dick Todd (1955-56) coached the final two Midwestern football seasons in 1955 and 1956 before the program was placed on a 5-year moratorium which would last 32 seasons.

After completing a stellar collegiate playing career at Texas A&M, Todd was selected in the fifth round of the 1939 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.

The Thrall, Texas native enjoyed a solid eight-year stint with the Redskins as he was named to Pro Bowls in two seasons and led the NFL in yards from scrimmage in 1940.

Todd guided Redskins to a 5-4 mark while serving as the interim coach in 1951 before accepting the position at Midwestern in 1955.
