Morrison earned two letters at Midwestern State after enjoying a standout prep career at Archer City High School.
 
She helped the Lady Indians to a Texas Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (TAIAW) North Zone postseason appearance for the 1976-77 scoring 420 points in 19 games for school record 22.1 points per game. The mark is still the highest in program history.
 
Morrison averaged 16.4 points in 34 contests in 1977-78 leading the Lady Indians to the TAIAW Region IV tournament while posting the program's first 20-win campaign.
 
She is a 1976 graduate of Archer City High School where she garnered second-team All-State honors and was a two-time all-district performer for the Lady Cats
