Becky Athey-Sesin played a key role in Midwestern State's rapid ascent into a Lone Star Conference powerhouse in women's soccer.
The 5-7 forward out of Odessa's Permian High School proved to be a potent offensive force for the Lady Indians helping the program to its first two league titles in 1997 and 1998.
Athey-Sesin burst onto the scene setting a program record with 21 goals during the program's first year in 1995. The mark still stands today, but she was hardly finished.
As a sophomore, she netted nine goals and scored the game winning goal to lead MSU to a 2-1 win over West Texas A&M in the LSC finals to seal the program's first conference title.
Athey-Sesin, who achieved five career hat tricks, earned first-team All-LSC honors as a junior notching eight goals and four assists before culminated her career with five goals and five assists gaining second-team all-league laurels as a senior in 1998 when she was also named to the LSC's All-Academic squad.
Athey-Sesin finished her career as MSU's all-time goal scoring leader with 43.
