WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- NCAA Division II national quarterfinalist Midwestern State placed three players on the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association All-America teams released earlier this week by the D2 Sports Information Directors of America.
 
Senior midfielder Pierre Bocquet and junior defender Patrick Fitzgerald earned second-team honors while senior forward Scott Doney earned third-team accolades.
 
Bocquet, the Heartland Conference Player of the Year, also earned first-team All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches last week. The Frenchman closed the year with eight goals and five assists. Always strong on the ball, the unflappable 6-2 midfielder notched a hat trick in a 4-0 win at St. Mary's while accounting for four game winners for the Mustangs.
 
Fitzgerald anchored an MSU back line which ranked fourth in NCAA Division II with a 0.438 goals against average and was sixth with 14 clean sheets. The Waterford, Ireland native accounted for seven goals with six coming by way of penalty kicks. Fitzgerald was also a first-team All-Heartland selection.
 
Doney enjoyed a stellar senior campaign after transferring in from the University of Buffalo. As MSU's top-scorer, Doney led the Heartland with 14 goals. A lethal weapon in the air, the New Zealand native played a pivotal role in MSU's attack with seven game winners. He was also tabbed a second-team All American by the United Soccer Coaches last week.
 
The Mustangs, who achieved the program's highest final ranking at No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll, finished of the program's first unbeaten campaign at 20-0-3 before bowing out in penalty kicks to Cal Poly Pomona in the national quarterfinal round.
 
Midwestern claimed its second consecutive Heartland Conference title in 2017, then claimed its first conference postseason tournament championship since 2006 on the way to a sixth NCAA Division II regional title.
