WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Midwestern State senior
Sarita Adhikary was selected as the Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week by the league office for her outstanding performance last week.
Adhikary helped lead Midwestern State to a 2-1 week with wins over Dallas Baptist and East Central and a loss to Tyler Junior College, the top-ranked team in the NJCAA.
The native of Kathmandu, Nepal, did not lose a match over the weekend, going 2-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
Adhikary beat DBU's Katie Daugherty 6-0, 7-6(5) and ECU's Bernardita Muscillo 0-6, 6-4, 10-4, both at No. 2.

Taylor Coffman, the team beat TJC's Kylie Reynaud/Kerry Wiegard 8-6 at No. 2, DBU's Leah Rutt/Katie Daughgerty 9-7 at No. 2, and ECU's Marta Valles/Elisabeth Dignard 8-3 at No. 1.
The Mustangs begin Lone Star Conference play on Friday when Incarnate Word visits the MSU Tennis Center. First serve is set for 10 a.m. MSU also hosts Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at 10 a.m.
