Colby Meeks picked up a win in the main draw and
Luke Joyce advanced to the consolation quarterfinals at the HEB Baylor Intercollegiate this weekend at the Hurd Tennis Center.

Meeks defeated Texas-Pan American's Alejandro Senoja 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 64 before falling in the round of 32 to Virginia Tech's Andreas Bjerrehus 6-1, 6-1.

Joyce opened play in the tournament against second-seeded Hunter Reese of Tennessee and fell 6-2, 6-2.

However he came back in the consolation bracket with a win over UTPA's Victor Alves 6-1, 6-2. In the consolation round of 16, Joyce defeated Jose Gonzales of Laredo CC 6-2, 6-0.

In the consolation quarters, Joyce lost to Texas-Arlington's Yauheni Yakauleu 6-3, 6-3.

The Mustangs
Kacper Boborykin fell in the opening round of the main draw to Tennessee's Taylor Patrick 6-1, 6-0.

Boborykin followed with a consolation win over UTPA's Sebastian Job 3-6, 6-1, 10-7. He fell to Rice's Leif Berger 7-5, 6-2 in the consolation round of 16.

All three also played doubles, falling in the opening round of the main draw. The Joyce/Meeks team fell 8-4 to Abid Akbar and Marius Cirstea of Idaho, while Boborykin teamed with Tulsa's Matt Kirby to drop an 8-4 decision to Baylor's third-seeded team of Mario Krickovic and Robert Verzaal.
