Cara Mack led Midwestern State to a split squad team victory Saturday morning here at the Third Annual Ram Ramble hosted by Texas Wesleyan.

"I am very proud of the progress this group has made over the past couple of weeks," MSU coach
Koby Styles said. "There aren't many programs who can claim a win with a split squad. The girls responded very well today."

Majed, a senior transfer from Oklahoma Baptist, covered the 5K course in 20:08.61 to finish third overall.

"Nadia ran strong today," Styles said. "She wasn't passed by a single runner and just kept moving up throughout the race."

Cara Mack placed fourth with a time of 20:10.19 followed by senior
Heather Owens (9th/20:49.49) and freshmen
Carrie Finson (12th/21:20.45) and
Danielle Androes (16th/21:55.15) to account for the countable scores for MSU while sophomore
Andrea Giron placed 29th with a time of 23:24.31.

The Mustangs totaled 28 points to outdistance a seven-team field including the University of Dallas (35 points), Texas-Dallas (84), Northwood (Texas) (122), Wiley (Texas) (129), Howard Payne (Texas) (148) and Sul Ross State (Texas) (167).

Melody Caldwell placed sixth overall with a time of 20:24.07 competing as an unattached runner.
