WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- Courtney Bingham belted two homers to lead Midwestern State to an 11-5 win over Incarnate Word Saturday afternoon in Game 1 Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Park.

The Mustangs put up runs in each of the first five innings while improving to 14-16 on the season and to 4-7 in league play.

Bingham blasted a three-run homer to center field and added a solo shot in the fourth to become just the 10th player in program history to hit two home runs in a game and the first since
McKenzie Sickler hit two bombs at East Central (Okla.).

Freshman
Brenna Hennan improved to 2-7 on the season while allowing four runs - three earned - on seven hits in four innings.
Lindsi Glenn came on to permit one run on four hits over the final three innings to earn her first collegiate save.

The Mustangs plated a run on a
Mallory Mooney sacrifice fly in the first inning and added another run
Courtney Ford's seventh homer in the third inning.

Ford extended her hit streak to four consecutive at bats with a two-run double to the left-field gap in the fourth inning then collected a single to left field in the sixth.

Incarnate Word broke up Hennan's shutout bid when Lea Padilla scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.

The Cardinals chipped away with three runs in the fifth inning highlighted by Sarah O'Brien's two-run homer to left field and UIW tacked on another run in the sixth inning but could get no closer than six runs.

Ford paced MSU's 15-hit attack by going 4-for-4 with three RBIs while Bingham and
Kim Jerrick had three hits each.
Elena Bennett and
Mallory Mooney joined the multiple-hit parade with two safeties each.

Alex Yarbrough paced the Cardinals by going 3-for-4 with an RBI at the dish.
